Summer Stock Stage announces Eclipse program for emerging artists

Indianapolis, IN- Summer Stock Stage’s newest program  – ECLIPSE – will debut in 2017.  ECLIPSE will serve as a professional extension of Summer Stock Stage, producing musicals with SSS alumni performers in paid positions.  This allows SSS to bridge the experience of performers as they transition from students to theater professionals.

ECLIPSE will offer challenging musical theater productions providing central Indiana with edgy and emerging work and artists.  Eclipse is an outgrowth of Summer Stock Stage’s main stage program which focuses on high school performers ages 13-19.  Eclipse will feature performers ages 19-25.

The first Summer Stock Stage ECLIPSE production will be Spring Awakening, June 1-18, 2017.  Performances will be at the Indy Eleven/Indy Fringe Theater 719 E. St. Clair in the Mass Avenue district of Indianapolis.  Details on auditions and tickets will be available in April 2017.

About Summer Stock Stage – Summer Stock Stage exists to provide theater experiences for teenage students in central Indiana.  Co-founded by Emily Ristine Holloway, artistic director and Jeanne Bowling, music director, the artistic team now includes Kyle Ragsdale, curator of the Harrison Center for the Arts; Mariel Greenlee and Brandon Comer of Dance Kaleidoscope; Cherri Jaffee, former Artistic Director of Dance Kaleidoscope; Michael Moffatt, Theater Department chair, Cathedral High School and professional actor/director Charles Goad. While pursuing their own careers as artists, these adults mentor and collaborate with the student artists in two major musical productions each summer. Park Tudor School generously donates the use of their beautiful facilities in their common vision for enriching the lives of students and the community through the arts.
