Summer Stock Stage ECLIPSE presents Spring Awakening June 1-18!

Indianapolis, IN-ECLIPSE, the emerging artists program of Summer Stock Stage, will present Spring Awakening June 1-18 at IndyFringe Basile Theatre.  Eclipse provides paid performing opportunities for young professionals and college students from central Indiana.  Eclipse, a new program, offers challenging musical theater productions providing central Indiana with edgy and emerging work and artists.  Eclipse is an outgrowth of Summer Stock Stage’s main stage program which focuses on high school performers ages 13-19.  Eclipse will feature performers who are alumni of Summer Stock Stage in college and older.

The opportunity to work with Summer Stock Stage alums and to showcase some of this talent in contemporary musical theater is what drives the SSS artistic team. Artistic Director Emily Ristine Holloway, says the team “shares a common belief that there is a need for this type of work in the Indianapolis market.  And most importantly we believe that providing professional opportunities for performers who are just embarking on their careers is crucial to attracting and retaining emerging artists in our community. Plus it gives us central Indiana the opportunity to see some of the amazing homegrown talent we at Summer Stock Stage have been fostering for the last 14 years!”

Spring Awakening will feature performers who attended eight area high schools and currently attend nine different colleges.  All are alumni of Summer Stock Stage and excited to be part of the premiere Eclipse production of Spring Awakening, an angsty rock musical about the trials and tribulations of growing up.  Tickets are $15 for opening weekend and $30 for all other performances.  Recommended for ages 16+.  Tickets available at summerstockstage.com.

Major supporters of this program are Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate; Livia Russell; and the Arts Council and City of Indianapolis.
