Summer Stock Stage Presents Hair June 26-29

Indianapolis, IN- Summer Stock Stage will present Hair: The American Tribal Love – Rock Musical at Ayres Auditorium at Park Tudor School June 26-29.  Thursday through Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and Sunday performance is at 2:30 pm.  More than 30 of the most talented students from central Indiana have been rehearsing with co-directors, Emily Ristine Holloway and Charles Goad, music director Jeanne Bowling, and choreographer, Cherri Jaffee, to mount this fully-staged and orchestrated production.   These students, ages 13-19, come from public, private, and charter schools, from urban Indianapolis, suburban Carmel and rural Thorntown.  These are some of the best musical theater performers in the area.  Many plan to continue their theater studies in college, while others have entirely different plans.  All come together in a professional, collaborative environment to produce outstanding theater each summer.

HairHair takes place in the 1960s and tells the story of a group of young people searching for love and peace in the Vietnam era.  One of Broadway’s first rock scores, this upbeat, hopeful musical features “Good Morning Starshine,” and “Let the Sun Shine In.”  All tickets are $17.  (Hair contains mature content and is recommended for ages 13+.)

Patron Reception, Friday, June 27 at 6 pm – Prior to Friday’s performance, there will be a groovy patron reception featuring the artistic staff in Foster Hall at Park Tudor School.  All proceeds benefit program scholarships.  Tickets are $25.
