Indianapolis, IN– Summer Stock Stage will present the musical Pippin at Ayres Auditorium at Park Tudor School July 27-30. Thursday preview and Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:00 pm. Sunday performance is at 2:00 pm. More than 20 of the most talented students from central Indiana have been rehearsing with director Charles Goad, music director Jeanne Bowling, and choreographer Cherri Jaffee, to mount this fully-staged and orchestrated production featuring Bob Fosse inspired choreography. These students, ages 13-19, come from 12 different public, private, and charter schools from throughout central Indiana. These are some of the best musical theater performers in the area. Many plan to continue their theater studies in college, while others have entirely different plans. All come together in a professional, collaborative environment to produce outstanding theater each summer.
PIPPIN – Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.
Pippin, a Tony-Award winning musical with an infectious score, comes to Summer Stock Stage July 27-30! Thursday preview performance is at 7:00 pm. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:00 pm and Sunday performance is at 2:00 pm. This is a PG production; some material may not be suitable for small children.
