Summer Stock Stage Cancels 2020 Productions

INDIANAPOLIS – The staff and board of Summer Stock stage want to share with you a difficult, but clear decision they have recently come to. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and in light of public health guidelines, SSS will not produce its SSS shows (Hunchback of Notre Dame and Be More Chill) that were to be staged at IRT this summer. This decision is based on the safety of the performers, artistic team, and audiences, which must be considered above all else.

SSS knows this comes as yet another disappointment among many our performers and audiences have had to endure this spring. We share your sadness; we know what this means in the lives of all who have been looking forward to a summer theater experience with Summer Stock Stage.
SSS is however, as dedicated as ever to its mission of inspiring young people to learn, connect, and perform. As you may have seen, SSS has moved online with its #VirtualPerformances series.
Summer Stock Stage is planning a more ambitious online learning and creating project beginning in June and will share details as they become available. This will be open to current students, as well as new students! New students will have the opportunity to audition via video in mid-May. For more info, please send an email to info@summerstockstage.com with “SSS 2020 Online” in the subject line.
While Summer Stock Stage is taking a different path this summer, it is still on mission and moving forward. SSS is engaging young artists in new ways while looking forward to the time we can again come together in person.
