Indianapolis, IN- Tickets go on sale May 15th for Summer Stock Stage’s 2014 season featuring Hair: The American Tribal Love- Rock Musical and The King and I. Hair will run June 26-29, 2014 followed by The King and I, July 24-27, 2014. Both productions will be held at the Ayres Auditorium at Park Tudor School, 7200 N. College Avenue, Indianapolis 46240. Summer Stock Stage features performers ages 13-18 from 40+ schools throughout central Indiana.
Hair– Hair takes place in the 1960s and tells the story of a group of young people searching for love and peace in the Vietnam era. One of Broadway’s first rock scores, this upbeat, hopeful musical features “Good Morning Starshine,” and “Let the Sun Shine In.” The Age of Aquarius comes to Summer Stock Stage June 26-29! Thursday – Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and Sunday performance is at 2:30 pm. (Hair contains mature content and is recommended for ages 13+.)
The King and I – Rodgers and Hammerstein’s unique love story features a memorable and breathtaking score that tells the charming story of a British governess who comes to the court of Siam to tutor the King’s many children. Within the splendor of the Royal Palace, Anna and the King come to understand one another and learn about each other’s cultures. This much-loved musical features some of theater’s loveliest and most well-known music including “Hello, Young Lovers,” “Getting To Know You,” and the unforgettable “Shall We Dance?” Don’t miss this family-friendly classic July 24-27. Thursday – Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and Sunday performance is at 2:30 pm.
